Skills and career

Maestrello graduated in 1983 in economics at the University of Bologna, and since then has held various positions and progressed in sales and marketing roles in multinational companies and consumer services in particular in Cerved Company (1984-1986), in Diners Club International, 1986-1997, to that of Sales Manager North Italy for Channel Banks.

In 1997, Maestrello moved to Milan for the first international experience as a Sales Manager for Italy of Bic Graphic Europe, the French multinational company specialising in promotional and advertising, managing the start-up of the Italian branch, creating of a network sales of over 400 distributors.

From 2001 to 2009, Maestrello’s next challenge was that of the meetings industry, becoming Commercial Director of Bologna Congressi SpA (Bologna trade fair companies), and Director of the Prague Congress Centre (Mantua Multicentre) and Mantua Expo. In the meantime during 2006, Maestrello returned to Bologna, to coordinate the start- up of a new convention centre (2,000 places) owned by a major hotel chain, which concluded in late 2008.

Consultancy

On the 1st January 2009 Maestrello founded Project A3, a consulting firm specialising in personnel training, project management of corporate events and tourism marketing. 2/8/2016 Gianluca Maestrello

On the 1st April 2014 Project A3 became Studio Maestrello Consulting, expanding the areas of training intervention, with particular attention to the innovative format of process consulting, promoted by Manageritalia Interageing (synergies between senior and junior workers) and Smart Welfare (welfare and productivity).

In addition to training other areas of practice of the firm are the CSR (corporate social responsibility) and the Project Management, especially qualitative research, organisation of workshops, conferences and events for companies.

Institutional positions and lectureship

Since 2008, Maestrello has been an adviser to Manageritalia Bologna (Association of Executives and the field of trade and services in Emilia Romagna with over 2000 members) which deals with reports and research projects with universities, collaborating with the University of Bologna, Venice and Cadiz.

As from the 1st July 2014, Maestrello is the Director of GPA Worlwide, information Technology Company specialising in data management and procedures for the voluntary sector, trade unions and insurance companies.

Additionally, Maestrello is member of Bologna Business School and Professional Data Gest faculty, where he lectures on project management and organisation of events, Post Master.
